Air India chairman and MD Ashwani Lohani said "running the organisation well" is the second biggest challenge the carrier faces, behind managing its "huge backlog of losses" (Times of India, 23-Feb-2019). As previously reported by CAPA, Air India reportedly requested India's Government refinance more than INR200 billion (USD2.8 billion) of the airline's debt by 31-Mar-2019 through issuance of non convertible debentures and/or applying for additional loans from financial institutions.
