Air India to receive USD211m government equity injection in late Jan-2019: reports

India's Government reportedly plans to provide INR15 billion (USD211 million) in equity capital to Air India in late Jan-2019 (IANS/PTI/The Telegraph, 27-Jan-2019). The equity injection will be the first tranche of an INR23.45 billion (USD330 million) capital increase approved by parliament in Dec-2018. The government also plans to transfer INR290 billion (USD4.09 billion) in debt to a special purpose vehicle, Air India Asset Holding Company.
