Air France-KLM mulling investment in A380 seat upgrades: CEO

17 June, 2019

Air France-KLM CEO Benjamin Smith outlined aspects of the group's fleet strategy regarding its A380 aircraft (ATW Online, 14-Jun-2019). The group's A380 fleet is set to decrease from 10 to seven at the expiry of leases in 2020 and 2021. Mr Smith said the remaining seven aircraft are equipped with older seats, adding the group is "in the middle of making the decision on how long those A380s will be staying in the Air France fleet and whether we should invest EUR30-EUR40 million per aircraft in upgrading those seats".
