Air France-KLM A380 phase out results in EUR100m impact in 3Q2019, EUR400m out to 2022

31 October, 2019

Air France-KLM stated (31-Oct-2019) the phase out of its A380 equipment resulted in a financial impact of EUR100 million in its 3Q2019 non-operating result, including EUR75 million in impairment of assets related to the aircraft and EUR25 million of accelerated aircraft depreciation. The group plans to implement a progressive early phase out of its A380s from the Air France fleet by the end of 2022. The total impact of this decision is estimated around EUR400 million, mainly due to the acceleration in the depreciation of the aircraft, spread over 01-Jul-2019 to 31-Dec-2022. An impact of EUR50 million will be accounted for in non-operating result for 4Q2019. [more - original PR]
