Air China to suspend Beijing-Brisbane service from Sep-2018 to Jan-2019

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) responded to Air China‘s decision to suspend nonstop Beijing-Brisbane service from Sep-2018 to Jan-2019, stating: “BAC understands the service suspension is due to fleet availability, a factor beyond our control, which Air China is working to restore as soon as possible” (SMH, 23-Jul-2018). BAC added: “We remain committed to the Beijing-Brisbane route as a key inbound market for Queensland trade and tourism and vital non-stop destination for Australian exporters and business people flying outbound”. The carrier has handled around 35,000 passengers on the four times weekly service from Dec-2017.
