28 February, 2019

Air Chathams general manager Duane Emeny said the airline plans to undergo a fleet renewal to replace its five Convair 580 aircraft (Aviation Daily, 27-Feb-2019). The carrier is considering the purchase of Boeing 737 equipment, or ATR 72-500s from Air New Zealand. Air New Zealand said it has been "working through sales of our ATR 72-500 fleet for some time now". Air Chathams also plans to retrofit its three Saab 340s, with two already completed and the third to be completed by the end of Apr-2019, Mr Emeny said.
