Air Canada wet leases A330s in 3Q2019, 737 MAX grounding preventing realisation of ‘full potential’

Air Canada president and CEO Calin Rovinescu reported (29-Oct-2019) the carrier wet leased two A330 aircraft in 3Q2019 to ensure “sufficient capacity” for winter 2019. He noted the removal of 36 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft from its schedule during peak summer season “exacted a toll from a financial, route, product, and human resources perspective and the grounding is preventing us from realising our full potential”.
