Air Canada VP of global sales highlights benefits of Air China JV for corporate passengers

28 June, 2018

Air Canada VP of global sales and alliances John MacLeod stated the purpose of the carrier's JV with Air China is to "line up our products and services" (Business Travel News, 27-Jun-2018). He said: "The sharing of revenue enables us to open up our networks to each other so we're not trying to protect our own transpacific revenue from our partners". He added: "Nonstop trans Pacific flights become available to our corporate customers that were not before, and we are working hard to develop joint sales strategies and revenue management strategies to enable our customers to use each other's services". He confirmed the carriers expect to implement the majority of their joint marketing, pricing and sales initiatives by the end of 2018.
