Air Canada expands service to US/Mexico with new routes, expanded frequencies and upgauged aircraft

    Air Canada announced (07-Mar-2018) plans to launch the following services to the US in winter 2018:

    • CalgaryPalm Springs: Daily service from 28-Oct-2018 to 30-Apr-2019;
    • EdmontonLas Vegas: Daily service operated by Air Canada rouge with A319 aircraft from 28-Oct-2018 to 30-Apr-2019;
    • Calgary-Puerto Vallarta: Frequency to increase from weekly to four times weekly service between 03-Nov-2018 and 30-Apr-2019 with A320 aircraft;
    • Calgary-Los Cabos: Frequency to increase from weekly to three times weekly service between 28-Oct-2018 and 28-Apr-2019 with A320 aircraft;
    • Calgary-Phoenix: Daily service to upgauge to A320 aircraft from 28-Oct-2018;
    • Vancouver-Phoenix: Frequency to increase from four times weekly to daily on 28-Oct-2018, with A320 aircraft;
    • Vancouver-Palm Springs: Frequency to increase from three times weekly to daily on 28-Oct-2018 with A320 aircraft. [more – original PR]

    It also announced (07-Mar-2018) plans to deploy new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on the following routes over the winter 2018/2019 schedule:

    • Vancouver-Kauai: Three times weekly from 15-Dec-2018 to 27-Apr-2019;
    • Vancouver-Honolulu: Up to twice daily during the winter schedule, effective 28-Oct-2018;
    • Vancouver-Maui: Up to twice daily during the winter schedule, effective 28-Oct-2018;
    • Vancouver-Kona: Four times weekly from 14-Dec-2018 to 29-Apr-2019;
    • Vancouver-Cancun: Four times weekly from 28-Oct-2018 to 29-Apr-2019;
    • Vancouver-Ixtapa: Three times weekly from 01-Nov-2018 to 30-Apr-2019;
    • Vancouver-Puerto Vallarta: Four times weekly from 28-Oct-2018 to 30-Apr-2019;
    • Vancouver-Los Cabos: Three times weekly from 01-Nov-2018 to 29-Apr-2019;
    • Calgary-Maui: Four times weekly from 28-Oct-2018 to 29-Apr-2019;
    • Calgary-Cancun: Three times weekly from 27-Oct-2018 to 30-Apr-2019.
