Air Canada EVP and CFO Michael Rousseau said he is "highly confident" the impact from a potential recession "would be less than half what the impact was in '08-09" (Delta Optimist, 26-Sep-2019). He noted the reduced impact would be due to the carrier's purchase of Aeroplan, greater labour contract flexibility, a more debt free fleet and its subsidiary Air Canada Rouge.
