Air Astana to increase density on E190s

    CAPA – Centre for Aviation, in a report entitled: ‘Kazakh airline fleet: growth, and fleet renewal from major airframers’ stated Air Astana decided to configure its Embraer 190-E2s with 104 seats and have a flexible business class cabin. The current E190 fleet has 97 seats, made up of 88 economy and nine business class seats in a fixed cabin. Air Astana operates nine E190s, which it plans to replace with E190-E2s by the end of 2020. Air Astana so far has committed to five E190-E2s, the first of which is slated to be delivered in Oct-2018. However, eventually the airline plans to grow its E190-E2 fleet to 12 aircraft. Air Astana is among only four airlines slated to receive E2s in 2018, according to the CAPA Fleet DatabaseWiderøe is the launch operator and is slated to take its first E190-E2 in Apr-2018. Turkey‘s BoraJet and China‘s Tianjin Airlines are the other two early E190-E2 operators.
