AIA: US government shutdown caused 'substantial ripple effects across the aerospace industry'

Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) reported (15-Feb-2019) the 35 day partial US Federal Government shutdown caused "substantial ripple effects across the aerospace industry". AIA noted that the shutdown lasted lengthened the time and expense to address backlogs of work, halted the processing of export licences, delayed deliveries of products to foreign customers and prevented government contractors who work in closed government facilities from report for work.
