Aeromexico: 70% of sales in Japan come from travel agents

Aeromexico said the breakdown of sales channels in Japan comprises 70% from travel agencies, more than 20% from online travel agents and less than 10% from direct sales (Travel Vision, 20-Feb-2019). The carrier reiterated “we will not sell at discount”. The airline said it is “considering all possibilities” for the Japan market, including new services to Osaka Kansai or Nagoya Chubu and increase Tokyo Narita frequency, adding “it may be difficult to get into Tokyo Haneda”. Aeromexico will commence mileage cooperation with Japan Airlines (JAL) “within a few months at the earliest”. As previously reported by CAPA, the airlines commence codesharing on 13-Feb-2019.
