Aerolineas Argentinas CEO: Carrier was left 'in one of the worst conditions' by previous government

7 January, 2020

Aerolineas Argentinas CEO Pablo Ceriani commented on Aerolineas Argentinas' condition, stating the previous government left the carrier "in one of the worst conditions" financially due to the liberalisation policies implemented (Clarin/Airway1, 06-Jan-2020). He stated that in 2015 the carrier's "net worth [was] USD75.9 million and [had] USD200 million in liquidity, and they [previous government] left it with a negative equity of USD441.9 million". Mr Ceriani expects the carrier will require USD700 million in state subsidies.
