Aer Lingus: 'The sharp and swift global decline in demand for air travel is without precedent'

Aer Lingus reportedly issued a bulletin to staff entitled: "The sharp and swift global decline in demand for air travel is without precedent" , outlining capacity and employment reduction measures (rte.ie/independent.ie, 19-Mar-2020). The airline reported via the memo: "We are implementing capacity reductions of at least 75pc when compared to the same period in 2019 and overall pay for all will be reduced by 50pc…If the operating schedule reduces further, or if full grounding of operations is required, there will be a necessity for further measures".
