Aer Lingus launches Apple Pay for app

    Aer Lingus launched (24-Apr-2019) Apple Pay as a payment method on the Aer Lingus mobile app. It works by connecting directly to customers’ designated bank account, allowing them to make secure in app payments either by using facial recognition or touch ID. The Apple Pay solution was delivered as part of Aer Lingus’ new Payments Hub platform in partnership with its technology partner Voyego, the dedicated travel division of the Comtrade Group. The airline says usage of the mobile app has increased by 50% in the last year, with more people accessing Aer Lingus services and more bookings taking place over the app. [more – original PR]
