Adelaide Airport announces terminal expansion project, 80% increase to retail spaces

Adelaide Airport announced (14-Jun-2018) plans to expand its main terminal to upgrade international arrivals and departures, and create further retail and dining options for both domestic and international travellers. Details include:

  • Construction to commence later in 2018, with completion expected in 2021;
    • Up to 200 employed during peak construction period;
  • Additional 630 direct and indirect jobs due to retail expansion;
  • Construction to contribute AUD167 million (USD127 million) to Gross State Product;
  • Overall terminal footprint: Increased by 16,500sqm;
  • Total retail footprint: Increased by more than 80% to 7257sqm;
  • New common user premium international lounge;
  • New VIP facilities for international arrivals and departures;
