ACI Europe president and Munich Airport CEO Dr Michael Kerkloh, commenting on the increasing relevance of drone safety and regulation, outlined (23-Jan-2019) "two obvious short term ways" of mitigating risk, as follows:
- Establish common rules on the exact area around airports to be designated as 'no-drone zones';
- Ensure geofencing technology preventing drones from entering no fly zones is mandatory for all commercially sold drones.
