ACI Europe DG: European airports 'bracing for a total collapse in air connectivity'

ACI Europe DG Oliver Jankovec said (10-Mar-2020) European airports are facing a "full-blown crisis" regarding the spread of the coronavirus and are now "bracing for a total collapse in air connectivity and the prospect of losing most of their revenues". Mr Jankovec added that the situation is developing into a "shock of unprecedented proportions for our industry" and that the organisation "cannot rule out" that airports other than in Italy may need EU and national government relief measures to address cash flow pressures and maintain their roles as critical infrastructure.
