ACAA: Pittsburgh International Airport energy project 'will cut our costs in a sustainable manner'

13 March, 2018

Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) CEO Christina Cassotis explained why ACAA is considering constructing a natural gas microgrid to power Pittsburgh International Airport, stating: "We have a lot of land to develop and we're looking at this as part of a whole program that allows us to cut our costs in a sustainable manner" (The Tribune-Review, 12-Mar-2018). Ms Cassotis also noted the system would include access to a power grid in case of emergencies. As previously reported by CAPA, ACAA issued a request for statements of qualifications for the project in Feb-2018.
