AAA welcomes Australian Govt USD70m commitment to upgrade regional airports

Australian Airports Association (AAA) CEO Caroline Wilkie welcomed (30-Mar-2019) the Australian Government's commitment of up to AUD100 (USD70 million) to upgrade regional airports across the country. Ms Wilkie said: "The AAA report into regional airports in 2016 found airports provide essential links for communities but that many operate at a loss and have reduced capacity for essential capital works... This funding will start to address this funding shortfall and assist this essential infrastructure to continue servicing communities into the future".
