A4ANZ: Airport privatisation has led to higher costs for airlines and passengers in Australia

Airlines for Australia and New Zealand (A4ANZ) chairman Graeme Samuel stated (24-May-2018) that in the absence of an effective regulatory regime, the experience of airport privatisation in Australia has "ultimately resulted in higher costs for both airlines and passengers". Professor Sameul said that the Australian economy could "benefit from a change in the regulatory settings for airports, to mimic the effects of a competitive market".
