Airlines for America (A4A) issued (13-Feb-2019) a statement to the US House of Representatives Aviation Subcommittee of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, stating the aviation system's funding structure should allow for budgetary contingency plans that would allow the US FAA, US TSA and CBP to operate normally during a shutdown caused by lack of funding. The A4A forecast the system will quickly reach an unsustainable point if the US Government undergoes another shutdown, causing decades of human and economic consequences.
