A350-1000 'ideally suited for Latin America': Airbus

Airbus president for Latin America and Caribbean Rafael Alonso believes the A350-1000 is "ideally suited to Latin America because of its range and fuel economy", along with the ability to open new routes which were previously not viable (aero.de, 16-Mar-2018). "In fact, 12 of the 27 A350s that TAM ordered from us are A350-100s", he confirmed. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, TAM Airlines currently operates five A350-900s. Mr Alonso said potential A350-1000 routes could be "high traffic routes to Europe, for example from Argentina, Brazil or Chile or on trans Pacific routes".
