A look back at Australian Aviation in 2017

11 December, 2017

In 2017, Australia enjoyed a 3.6% increase in available seats brought in by new airlines and new routes. In fact, five new airlines launched operations to Australia including SriLankan Airlines, Batik Air and TianJin Airlines, while seven never before accessed destinations were linked to Australia by direct services. Domestically, four new airports welcomed passenger services opening access to more than 250,000 people, however 42 routes are no longer in service thanks largely to the slow down of the mining boom.
