Airbus president for Latin America and Caribbean Rafael Alonso stated A321LR aircraft "will give... [Latin American] airlines great flexibility and new horizons" (aero.de, 16-Mar-2018). He said: "With a range of 7400kms, this aircraft can fly non stop from Argentina to Central America or from Brazil to Florida... The operating costs are 30% lower than the aircraft of the previous generation".
