VLM Airlines COO confirms long haul intentions for China in 2018

VLM Airlines COO Carl Runge said the carrier intends to launch long haul services to the Far East in 2018 (Luchtvaartnieuws, 08-Feb-2018). "We are going to fly with two Airbus A330s", Mr Runge announced. As previously reported by CAPA, VLM Airlines plans to lease A330-200 equipment and is considering serving Shenzhen from either Brussels or Liege from as early as Apr-2018. "It is certain that we will not enter into competition on Beijing and Shanghai", Mr Runge confirmed, adding: "But there are still many Chinese cities that want a direct connection with Europe".
